Tooth-Coloured Fillings
Tooth coloured fillings, also called white fillings, are dental fillings that make a tooth look natural again. Additionally, this material can be used to cosmetically change the size, colour and shape of teeth. We can, for example, close gaps between teeth, rebuild chipped or fractured teeth and make teeth appear to be more straight or even.
We pride ourselves in being non-toxic to the environment and to your personal health. Therefore, we are an amalgam free practice due to the dangers in using silver amalgam as a filling material.

Crowns
Artificial crowns are sometimes called caps. They can be made using different materials with different qualities or properties. Here are some of the basic choices. Discuss with your dentist which choice best suits you.
1. Composite Crowns…
…These are made out of composite- a plastic type material. They are not very strong but they can be repaired easily if chipped. These are best for patients with extreme metal sensitivities who are also unable to tolerate full porcelain.
2. Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal (PFM)…
…An aged option but still able to provide you with durability and a pleasing appearance. The main disadvantage is that, since the tooth-coloured porcelain has to be bonded to an underlying metal, this black colour may become visible just under the gum line. This is most unwanted at the front of the mouth.
3. E-Max…
…4 times stronger than PFM crowns, these are a superior choice particularly for the front of the mouth. Great aesthetics.
4. Zirconia…
…10 times stronger than PFM crowns. Toughest; real hard to break. They are the perfect option for back teeth because they do not succumb to wear and tear and they provide a natural appearance.
